Butterscotch Brownies

6 tablespoons shortening
1 1/2 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1 cup butterscotch bits

Preheat oven to 350F. Cream shortening and sugar, add the rest in given order. Grease a 9" x 13" baking pan. Pour batter into pan, and bake 25 minutes. Cool for 10 minutes and then cut into squares.

This is the WORST Butterscotch Brownies I have ever made, coming from a homemaker cook of 35 years, I have sampled many, many recipes, and this is probably the worst one star

Very easy to make and the best recipe I've tried so far. Trust me, I only bake things that are EASY. Then, I took them to work and set them on my desk for everyone -- TWICE. Whoo hoo! five stars
