Chocolate Chip Spritz

2/3 cup sugar
1 cup butter, softened
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/4 cup coarsly grated semi-sweet chocolate
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

Heat oven to 400F. In large mixer bowl combine sugar, butter, egg, salt, and vanilla. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until mixture is light and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes. Add flour and coarsly grated semi-sweet chocolate. Beat at low speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed, 2 to 3 minutes. If dough is too soft, cover and refrigerate until firm enough to form cookies, 30 to 45 minutes. Place dough in cookie press. Form desired shapes 1 inch apart on cookie sheets. Bake for 6 to 8 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.

good cookie but I grated the chocolate too finely...so make sure you grate it coarsely like suggested. I am going to try again. And the dough is soft but I put it in the fridge for about 10 minutes and it was fine. I love the cookie press. five stars

I found it an un-appeling color and no flavour, re-tried with double chocolate and still found no taste. one star

This is a really good recipe, but, you might have to crumble, or melt the chocolate with a bit of butter. Because it does not go through the cookie press very well, and if you mix the melted chocolate into it very well, it will look, and taste a bit more appealing. five stars
