1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup softened butter
3 ouncese cream cheese, softened
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon almond extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg yolk (reserve white)
2-1/4 cup all-purpose flour
In large bowl combine sugars, butter, cream cheese, salt, extracts and egg yolk; blend well. Stir in flour until well blended. Chill dough for 2 hours. Pre-heat oven to 375 F. On lightly floured surface, roll out dough, one-third at a time to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into
desired shaped with lightly floured cookie cutter. Place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Leave cookie plain, or brush with lightly beaten egg white and sprinkle with colored sugar. Bake for 7-10 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely on wire racks.

My friend made these as thumbprint cookies and using cookie cutters. I liked the flavor, although the dough was very crumbly and cookie fell apart while eating it. Prefered them with the jelly added to the thumbprint cookie than as a cookie cutter version. Guess it gave it more flavor.

I think these cookies tasted like traditional sugar cookies. Yummy cookies, especially if you put icing on them! I did not have any difficulty with rolling out the dough, very very easy (especially for a novice cookie baker like myself)

I am only 22 and have not really been baking that long and I didn't have a problem rolling the cookies out...I USED FLOUR FOR ROLLING THEM OUT that's pobably why they didn't stick.

This is the same recipe my grandma uses! Here is a helpful hint: These cookies don't taste the best with frosting as they do sugar! Once you are done cutting out the dough, lightly brush with water over the tops and then place tops in a dish of colored sugar. . .make sure the entire cookie is covered. Then bake in the oven. If you do this the cookies will be a winner every time! :)

Loved these cookies! Delicious!! It's true that the dough was a little soft and hard to work with, but keeping it in the fridge and working quickly did the trick. It was well worth it.

This recipe is just perfect! Very delicious! My kids and I had a great time making cut out cookies with this recipe, and even my 6 year old was able to roll out dough and use cookie cutters with ease. I added food coloring to the dough for some added fun to decorating. Definately needed to cook the full 10 minutes or the cooked cookies fell apart!

I absolutely LOVED this recipe, I found it just messing around online and I would definitely make it again. Just make sure that you chill the dough sufficiently, I think that maybe 3 hours would be better, but as long as everything is chilled and floured, GREAT COOKIES!!!!!!

Since I read that this is a sticky dough, I decided to divide the dough into 4 parts and put it in the refrigerator to chill.
Once the dough was chilled, I kept adding flour to the surface every time and put parchment paper between the dough and the rolling pin. It really helped and made it easier to handle the dough and cut the cookies.
Working with one portion of dough at a time made it more manageable and less messy.

To the person below me: Did you use flour when you rolled them and on the rolling pin? Because it sounds to me you didn't.
Are you new to making cookies, because if so, you don't need to be giving GOOD cookies, bad reviews.
